Langenlois (Kamptal) and Gumpoldskirchen (Thermenregion): One winemaker, two wine regions

The grapes that will one day become Loimer wines grow in two wine-growing regions – in the Kamptal, where the vineyards sprawl around the wine town of Langenlois; and in the Thermenregion, around Gumpoldskirchen, a town just south of Vienna and with a centuries-old wine-growing culture. The leading varieties in the Kamptal are Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, while Gumpoldskirchen stands primarily for the two autochthonous varieties Zierfandler and Rotgipfler as well as for Burgundy varieties such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
